The rear end is finally back from the shop. It has had a new set of gears installed and a traction lock for powering both tires at once, not just the right one. Now it’s time to put the lines and brakes together to get it ready to mount.

With big purchases, I often take too long researching and trying to decide. I have been stewing over the front brakes for a while, but I finally pulled the trigger (or hit the button, as it is). I went with the suggested Wilwood disc system, and now I am in for the penny, with the rest of the pound ahead.

The main project is finally moving. My Global West suspension finally arrived this week. This area is the next big step to get the car to rolling again, which leads to an engine and a functional interior.

While waiting on my front suspension pieces (still), I finally bit the bullet and picked up a media blasting cabinet from Harbor Freight. I wish there was some place local I could rent time on a nice blasting cabinet, but not finding that option, I figured buying one is cheaper than paying to have every part blasted. Besides, blasting parts is fun.

Years ago, I thought it would be a good idea to replace my original 6 cylinder, 4 bolt drum brakes with 5 bolt disk brakes to match the 5 bolt rear end I have. It just looked wrong with mismatched bolts front and back, and disks seems like a great plan.
